The Partner Visa
This visa allows you to become a New Zealand resident if your partner is a New Zealand citizen. This visa is designed for people who are in a genuine and stable relationship with a New Zealand citizen, resident or eligible visa holder. In a partnership visa, you also have an option to obtain either residency or an open work visa. If you have got the residency with a partner visa, you will be able to work, study and live in New Zealand. Requirements for Partner Visa that you need to meet: 1- Your partner must be a New Zealand citizen, resident or eligible visa holder. 2- You must be able to prove that you are in a genuine and stable relationship with your partner. 3- You must meet health and character requirements. 4- You must have enough money to support yourself and any dependents while you are in New Zealand. There are two types of Partner Visas available in New Zealand: Partner of a New Zealand Citizen or Resident Visa: This visa allows you to live, work and study in New Zealand indefinitely. You can also apply for permanent residency after two years. Partner of a Work Visa Holder Visa: This visa allows you to live and work in New Zealand for the same duration as your partner’s work visa. You can also study, but you will need to apply for a student visa. To apply for a Partner Visa in New Zealand, you will need to complete an application form and provide supporting documentation. The processing time for a Partner Visa can vary, but it typically takes between 6 and 12 months.
